MRSC Rosters History
From Single Municipality Rosters to One Shared Statewide Roster
The City of Lynnwood started the original shared roster which served municipalities in the Puget Sound area. Due to growth and expense of funding the system, the City of Lynnwood decided to transition the management of the shared roster to the Municipal Research and Services Center of Washington (MRSC) in December 2007. MRSC was chosen as an appropriate roster manager because of our mission to "work together for excellence in local government". If you would like to learn more about the municipal services MRSC provides, please see www.mrsc.org.
MRSC Rosters is now expanding the shared roster statewide to serve more municipalities by offering a comprehensive, cost-effective alternative to maintaining individual rosters and as a not-for-profit, MRSC must charge fees to all agencies, contractors, and consultants to fund operational costs. The shift from individual rosters to a shared roster is a process that involves a broad municipality awareness campaign and outreach to contractors and consultants. MRSC Rosters is growing everyday, but it will take time for all interested municipalities, contractors, and consultants to fully begin utilizing the new system so we appreciate your patience in this process.
